In India, the current labor force dynamics underscore a stark gender disparity. While 37.1% of the youth actively engage in the labor force, men lead with a participation rate of 57.1%, leaving women at a mere 12.7%. Astonishingly, three out of every four women in India abstain from recognized economic activities. Recognizing the transformative potential, it's essential to note that elevating women's participation in the workforce could substantially boost India’s GDP by an impressive 27%.
At DBVS NGO, we ardently believe in dedicating our best and most sincere efforts to empower women, especially those hailing from marginalized communities. Our vision revolves around creating a future characterized by active community participation and strategic interventions.
The aim of Parinati is to develop women leaders by providing them leadership skills, financial literacy, skill development and scholarships for further education.
At DBVS NGO, we are proud to spearhead a transformative program that currently supports 60 enrolled girls who are students in various educational pursuits. Our initiative goes beyond conventional education, embracing a holistic approach to empower young minds. Through a series of impactful interventions, we aim to shape the future of these girls and contribute to the betterment of their communities.
Through intensive training sessions, workshops, hands-on community projects linked to each module, and leadership training and exposure visits, the program is implemented. There are several modules including:
Besides offering counseling sessions, the center also helps women by arranging for employment opportunities, computer classes, English speaking classes, celebrations of important days, and similar activities. Our Parinati centers also encourage village women to organize Self-Help Groups to develop their saving habits.
Expert resource persons are invited to participate in the group discussions so that the girls are able to learn directly from them about a variety of topics. We organize road shows & street plays in the village to create awareness related to women and the village people. We also provide a platform for girls to learn and develop their skills during the week.
